A Life of Order

One of the workshops I attended at the retreat was about getting on God's schedule. The presenter was Connie Green, our women's ministry coordinator.

She began with a list of signs that you're moving too fast or not investing your time. (We are to invest our time not just spend it.) (I loved this!)

1. Frequently feel tired or lack energy to carry you through your day. You wake up tired. You use stimulants to get you through the day.

2. Find yourself rushing and can't get a grip on your day.

3. Procrastinating

4. No time for self (exercise, Dr. appts., time to breathe deeply)

5. Disorder and confusion in your home.

6. Not using your God-given gifts to bless others or to be blessed.

7. Using your tongue to tear others down and not building them up.

8. Easily annoyed by almost everyone.

9. Not spending time in prayer and Bible study and personal devotions.

10. Lack of peace in your heart.

Next Connie shared how to gain freedom from busy.

While being led by the Holy Spirit:

* Accept who you are in Christ and who He is.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. -1 Peter 2:9-10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. -Ephesians 2:10

* Accept your life's mission. Don't allow the enemy to distract you.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. -Matthew 5:13 ("Sprinkle and Shine"😃)

* Accept your goal and purpose as a woman. Build your home. The woman is the heart of the home. A mom is the #1 influence on her daughter.

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. -Proverbs 14:1

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. -Proverbs 31:28

Motivation →Desire →Passion →Commitment →Order

* Repent of the disorder in your life. First the spiritual disorder, not knowing who you are in Christ and not fulfilling your purpose as a woman.

* Learn the names of God in the areas where you struggle.

* Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you in areas where you are weak.

* Expect to succeed.

* Set aside time to be with the Lord.

* Know your priorities. This will help make decisions.

* Pray: Praise, Ask, Listen.

* Create a "Command Central" to take care of bills, paperwork, schedules, etc.

* Take care of your physical body. Keep your Dr. appts., exercise, eat healthy.

* Organize your home. Start small.

* Read "8 Choices that will Change a Woman's Life" by Jill Briscoe

* Reject the attitude of entitlement that wants others to do what we should be doing ourselves through Christ's strength and the Holy Spirit's direction.

This workshop was so helpful to me. This was an area that I was struggling with and Connie gave me exactly what I needed to regain my focus.
