How Do I Become a Revolutionary?

Ten Rules for Revolutionaries

1. Live the Five Loves

Love God
Love His Word
Love your enemies
Love your neighbor
Love Truth

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
-Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
-Matthew 5:44 NKJV

By living the Five Loves of a Jesus Freak through the power of God's love, you walk in the supernatural constantly.

2. Always Go Directly to the Source

Then you will call upon  Me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
-Jeremiah 29:12-13 NAS

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
-John 15:4

Go to God regularly through prayer and His Word. Jesus is our primary Source for all we need in life. Verify everything you have learned through His Spirit and the Word.

Cultivate the spiritual fruit in your life. In all that you do, let your spirituality be evident to others in being as much like Jesus as you can.

Also avoid living your life on hearsay or secondhand information. Ignore rumors. Verify things from firsthand sources whenever possible, or don't make too much out of them until you do.

3. Get Connected - You are not Alone

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
-Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

We will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
-Ephesians 4:15-16 NLT

Plug into a good church where they will help you be accountable to God.

God designed us as different parts that fit together with one another.

Plug into and support ministries that are reaching out into areas you feel called to help in.

4. Adopt Transformational Thinking

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
-Romans 12:2 NIV

Don' think like the world thinks, but be ready to see God's will done in every situation and let Him guide you in how to accomplish it.

5. Live It, Don't Just Say It

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit , contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved - and that by God.
-Philippians 1:27-28

Actions speak louder than words. St. Francis once said, "Go and preach the Gospel. Use words, if necessary."

If we live the Gospel, then when we share the Gospel it will have weight.

Can Jesus' love really have changed us if we are never willing to tell anyone else about it? Are you always ready to answer anyone who questions the hope you have in Christ? (See 1 Peter 3:15)

6. Mess Up

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
-Galatians 6:9

You will make mistakes in trying to obey God and do good things. We are all human. We often don't learn unless we make mistakes. Just accept that. People may get mad at you. Rejoice! you touched a nerve. you touched their consciences. Not everything you do will go the way you planned, but that is all just part of the adventure. Some of your mistakes may even be opportunities for good.

Sure, the closer you walk with god, the fewer mistakes you will probably make, even Paul failed at times. But what we see as a failure is not always what God sees as a failure.

7. Don't Accept Face Value

God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful.
-1 Corinthians 1:27 NLT

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.
-1 Corinthians 3:6-9 NIV

Things are not always what they seem. What you may see as a failure in one instance may have actually moved another person or situation farther along God's path toward himself or His will.

Sometimes what God tells you to do will look crazy. But your obedience to Him may be just what is needed to release the kingdom of heaven in someone else's life.

8. Stand Up For What You Believe

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage  - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
-2 Timothy 4:2-4 NIV

Do people even know you are a Christian?

When you enter into debates, do it in a spirit of love. Be informed. Learn. Avoid disputes that arise just for the sake of arguing. The truth will keep you free, and your understanding of other viewpoints and of the truth will help you set others free as well.

9. Remember The B.A.S.I.C.s

Remember those in prison as is if you were their prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
-Hebrews 13:3 NIV

B.A.S.I.C.s stands for Brothers And Sisters In Chains. Don't forget those who are suffering around the world for their faith in Jesus. Don't forget about those who are suffering around the world for their faith in Jesus. Be informed about what is happening and help where you can.

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment.
-1 Peter 2:1-2 NLT

Also, stick to the basics of your faith. Don't act like an expert in areas you know little about.

10. "Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It. . . " Accept It.

"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world."
-Jeremiah 1:5 NLT

In all the body of Christ there is only one you. God has a unique calling for your life. Watch for it. When it comes you will know it.

Then walk in it and change your world.
