Trust and Faith
Depend on the Lord; trust Him, and He will take care of you. . . Wait and trust the Lord.
-Psalm 37:5, 7a
God's people must learn to trust him with all their affairs. Trust involves commitment, patience, delight in the Lord, and obedience.
Is God calling you to trust Him to carry you over some dangerous impasses in your Christian pilgrimage? What do you need to trust him for - your next job, a fragile marriage, a bad habit, a new ministry? Take a step of faith this week that demonstrates you have put your faith on the line.
-From The Inspirational Study Bible by Max Lucado
It was by faith that Abraham, when God tested him, offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice. God made the promises to Abraham, but Abraham was ready to offer his own son as a sacrifice. God had said, "The descendants I promised you will be from Isaac." Abraham believed that God could raise the dead, and really, it was as if Abraham got Isac back from death. -Hebrews 11:17-19
Fig trees may not grow figs, and there may be no grapes on the vines. There may be no olives growing and no food growing in the fields. There may be no sheep in the pens and no cattle in the barns. But I will still be glad in the Lord; I will rejoice in God my Savior. The Lord God is my strength. He makes me like a deer that does not stumble so I can walk on the steep mountains. -Habakkuk 3:17-19
